In the TORA I read, God told Moses he should create a one piece candlestick...with no joints... and removing the excess material...” this was the moment that inspired me to the final work. The emptiness, representing the Rose of Peace, appearing form the raw material. I have tried to keep the essence of the Menorah while being loyal to the Jewish liturgy but converting the artwork in a contemporary piece looking towards the future. Material
24 carate Gold and Lapis Lazuli:
This extraoridinary sculpture has been made using the very same ancient technique that was used by egyptians centuries ago - polished graphite with the aspect of black basalt covered by layers of bronze. The face of Tutanhamen has been further covered by a layer of 24-carate gold.
The blue finishes have been created by filling out the empty spaces with a powder of blue lapis lazuli with different mixture to create a homogenous effect, exactly as the ancient goldsmiths of Egypt did. Additionally thanks to different patinas and sand, the obtained result is so spectacular and resembles the real Head of young Tutankhamen (just have a look at the photos!)
